I am an undergraduate at UC Santa Cruz majoring in Neuroscience with a minor in Computer Science. My interest in neuroscience comes from wanting to understand how the brain gives rise to behavior and how neural systems can be studied, modeled, and eventually interfaced with through technology. This interest led me to the Colquitt Lab, where I use computational approaches to analyze birdsong and study how neural and genetic mechanisms influence vocal learning. In the future, I hope to pursue a master’s degree in Neural Engineering and work on developing brain-computer interfaces that can help restore or improve communication, movement, and other important functions. Outside of the lab, I play music in a band, watch movies, go to the beach, and hike.
